Where possible, we urge you to support local businesses - and by way of thanking you, Colchester Borough Council are encouraging the launch of a Buy Local Value Card to tempt you …
Councillor Nigel Offen said, “Residents will, for just a small administration fee, be able to buy a Buy Local value card, which will enable them to save money and at the same time support the area’s largest employers - our local businesses.
A Buy Local event was held in March of this year, and there was such great support for its money-saving ideas that it was decided to launch the value card. The card will be accepted at any participating business where the owner lives and operates in the CO postcode area. Shoppers will save money and the businesses themselves will, of course, benefit too from the increased trade in their local community, with more being spent on local goods and services.
The launch of the Buy Local value card has been encouraged by Colchester Borough Council as well as the local Green Party who have themselves been encouraging people to buy local o reduce their carbon footprint.
